Why Suffer?
Suffering comes when an intention or expectation is thwarted. It comes when we have either a conscious or unconscious attachment to a specific outcome or experience. Suffering comes when we forget. Forget that there is no loss and no separation. We are all connected to each other and all things. We are never truly alone.
Lately I’ve been watching various people’s interviews about their experience with Death. They refer to it as a near death experience because they are here now, back in their bodies and able to tell about what transpired when their bodies lost life. So far there has been a common thread in each story I’ve witnessed. Well actually there are several but these few have stood out for me.
One is that they all experience evidence that they are never actually alone. There is always some being that is there to assist them on their journey back home. And by “back home” I do not mean back to their waking life in the body they just left. Another detail that was shared was this wave of calm and sometimes serenity that washed over them as their body passed on.
In a few of the talks people shared that this place they experienced beyond the physical eliminated any fear of dying for them because they now know without a doubt that they are infinite beings having a temporary human/physical experience.
Now this perspective is difficult for me to deny. I would say, for myself, it is merely an affirmation of a deeper truth that already lives within me. I would also share that I have experienced something similar in a deep state of meditation as well as in a state of hypnosis.
In fact there are many books written on the subject. A few, in particular, written by Brian L. Weiss explores multiple experiences of clients in hypnosis sharing about moving from life to death to the in-between stage and recognizing soul families as well as new life beginnings, incarnation. A few of these books are, “Same Soul Many Masters”, "Many Lives Many Masters”, and a favorite of mine, “Only Love Is Real”.
I believe when we begin to be able to value the present moment in a way that offers itself to fullness, recognition of blessings and a sense of gratitude and most importantly faith, there can be no real loss. I believe a sense of faith comes from remembering our true and infinite nature not just as an idea in the mind but an embodied truth that lives within our wholeness, every cell and molecule. Eventually every thought becomes a product of this knowing, every experience in some way is evidence of this truth. Remembering that if we so choose every challenge, every painful emotion or experience is here for us and is a doorway, an opportunity for us to remember our true and infinite nature. Only Love is Real, all else is showing us how to return to Love.
I invite you to ponder this possible reality. Does it feel true to you? What does it mean to be an infinite being? What does it mean that your body is not who you are but merely a temple carrying your soul/spirit through a temporary physical experience. How would you experience your day to day differently if you were able to embody this knowing and allowed yourself to remember your true, infinite and sacred nature? How can you begin to open yourself to experience evidence of this truth?
I am inviting you to go within. To create a quiet and safe space for yourself to look deep within with a sense of curiosity while asking yourself these questions.
And as always I am here to remind you that you are so so loved,
Liva
